According to the Norwegian Health Ministry, most European countries only allow citizens to change the gender assigned to them at birth after they turn 18. 

 

However, Richard Köhler, of the Transgender Europe lobby group, told Reuters that the “gold standard” was to have no formal limit, as in Malta. 

 

“Generally it is very good to allow very young transpersons to have their gender identity respected,” he said. 

 

Until April this year, Norway insisted that those seeking to change their legal gender undergo surgery, a practice which transgender activists argued was a violation of human rights. 

 

According to Høie, children between seven and 16 would need to consult with their parents before changing their legal gender, after which they would be able to decide for themselves, without the need for a psychiatric or medical evaluation. 

 

They would then be able to reverse the decision to change gender at will. 

 

“The proposal is historic in that it will no longer be the health service but the individual who decides if he or she has changed sex,” Hoie said in a statement on the plan. 

Tell me how this isn’t homophobic and misogynistic as fuck? So basically, a whole generation of kids is going to be pathologized and sterilized because of what they think their gender is as a kid? I don’t know about you, but as a seven year old I “identified” as a number things, from a Ghostbuster to She-ra.

So for trans activists, the “gold standard” is no standard. No standard in telling a kid, no, you shouldn’t mutilate your genitals cause it’s ok to be a boy who likes “girl” things or a girl who likes “boy” things. That your sex isn’t the problem, but societies reliance and ridged gender roles. That you can’t “feel” like a woman, or a man. That “feeling” is just stereotypes.  Nah fuck it, do a way with the gatekeepers and let the kid change gender at will!

  It’s no secret adult autogynephilic men have been using children to further their cause. It’s sad that societies think this is progressive, instead of changing any of the sexist thinking behind gender in the first place.

Laura Ingraham is being labeled as the dreaded transphobe for going on record saying that hormone therapy for children is child abuse. Salon.com did an article about her saying basically “this is what transphobia sounds like”. Really, really? Being concerned for children who are going to be pushed in to sex reassignment by fucked up adults is transphobia now is it?

Hey Obama, I know you’re giving a speech right now, but listen to me!!!

During a LGBTQ Pride speech in the East Wing on Wednesday, President Obama was interrupted by a trans activist.  Jennicet Gutiérrez, who was brought as a plus one of an invited guest,  began to shout down the president because he felt entitled enough to interrupt and air his issues in a completely inappropriate manner. Gutiérrez was escorted out after two whole minutes of shouting. Of course the press swarmed him giving him giving him a platform to share his selfies.

Jennicet Gutiérrez made international headlines when her voice rang out in an attempt to talk over President Obama at an LGBT pride month reception at the White House on Wednesday.

But when she spoke to PEOPLE, there were no interruptions, only polite, soft-spoken responses – which is not to say she didn’t stand her ground.

In fact, Gutiérrez has no regrets about raising her voice in the name of her “trans sisters,” many of whom are now hailing her as a hero for their cause.

“I believe I was not disrespectful in any sense,” she tells PEOPLE. “I believe I did the right thing by speaking up. To me, more disrespectful is the fact that we don’t want to acknowledge the violence that we’re facing and the mistreatment that many members of my community are facing.”

“Transgender woman convicted of murdering friend”

COVINGTON – A jury didn’t believe that 72 stab wounds were inflicted in self-defense at a party in Independence on New Year’s Day 2014.

After seven hours of deliberation Friday evening, the jury found Matthew “Maddie” Smith guilty of the murder of Eric Schreiber, 39, of Villa Hills.

Smith, 26, is a transgender woman from Crescent Springs who claimed she killed Schreiber in self-defense. She faces life in prison in a men’s facility as the jury deliberated late into the night in the sentencing phase.

Her attorney, Shannon Sexton, pleaded for mercy, asking the jury to impose the minimum 20 years in prison. Smith, because she’s transgendered, has spent the past 15 months in isolation at the Kenton County Detention Center.

“Doing time like that is an eternity,” Sexton said. “Twenty years is an eternity in isolation. I respectfully admit that while a crime has been committed, there is room for mercy.”

The brutality of the crime, however, warrants life in prison, said Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Leanne Beck. Beck disputed that Smith will spend the entire sentence in isolation.

After deliberation, the jury announced a 40-year sentence for Smith, according to the Kenton County Commonwealth’s Attorney office.

“I can’t get past what Maddie did,” Beck said. “This wasn’t one stabbing. This wasn’t a mistake. This was a brutal killing Eric endured; 72 stabbings is not something you can take lightly.”

The prosecution claimed she had a vendetta against Schreiber and made threats.

Smith alleged Schreiber tried to sexually assault her while the two were at a party at Schreiber’s sister-in-law’s house for New Year’s Eve 2013.

The prosecutor’s argument that 72 stab wounds couldn’t be self-defense appears to have swayed the jury.

Schreiber’s throat was slit and stab wounds to the chest broke through the breastplate, said Beck.

“You have 72 reasons to convict,” Beck said in her closing statement. “Seventy-two is proof in and of itself that she intended to kill Eric.”

The fatal path that led to the stabbing began when Smith befriended Schreiber’s step-daughter, Corina Wallace, as the two worked at Citibank.

Smith on the stand said Schreiber’s family welcomed her with open arms as she began her transition from male to female.

But Smith said she had a frosty relationship with Schreiber, whom she accused of groping her and making unwanted advances at a Fourth of July party.

The tension thawed and the two found themselves at a New Year’s Eve party Dec. 31, 2013 at Schreiber’s sister-in-law’s house in Independence. By 7 a.m. the next morning, Schreiber lay dead in the backyard with his throat slit and 72 stab wounds.

Family on both sides cried at the verdict Friday.

Schreiber’s family said they felt relief after four days of testimony that repeatedly accused the victim of attempted sexual assault.

“I hated the fact he was dragged through the mud the way he was,” said Schreiber’s aunt, Martha Wilbers. “That was the horrible part about it. The fact that people realize now Eric didn’t do all those horrible things they accused him of. We are so relieved about that.”

Smith’s family testified during the sentencing phase late Friday evening about Smith’s compassion and peaceful nature.

His sister Brittany Smith spoke of her generosity.

“Maddie is one of the most kind-hearted, generous persons I’ve ever known,” she said. “She would give you the shirt off her back.”

But Schreiber’s step-daughter testified during sentencing to the hurt of Smith’s betrayal.

“The person who did this was a great friend of mine,” Wallace said. “She told myself, my husband and family lies after lies. I have no words to explain the hurt I feel about that.”

Schreiber’s family, however, empathized with Smith’s family.

“We know they are hurting and we understand that,” said Schreiber’s aunt, Carol Hodge. “Two families’ lives are changed forever and everyone is hurting.”

A man — who was dressed as a woman — is accused of spying on women as they used the bathroom at a Wal-Mart store in Woodbridge.

Police in Prince William County said the incident occurred May 15 around 10:30 p.m. at the mega store at 1400 Worth Avenue. Authorities were called to investigate a report of a peeping incident.

A 53-year-old woman from Woodbridge told police that while she was using the restroom inside the Wal-Mart, an unknown man stood in front of her stall. The man tried to use a mirror to see into the stall.

When the victim confronted him, he fled the restroom. Police said no physical contact was made by the alleged peeping man.

shirt, black Capri-style pants, black and neon green shoes and carrying a large red and black handbag.

The man is described as being between 45- and 55-years-old. He is five feet, 10 inches tall and about 220 pounds with a medium build.

The fertility of a trans woman or trans* feminine person depends on how they’ve decided to transition. Some trans women lose their ability to create a pregnancy, and some have no change in their fertility at all. Many end up falling somewhere in between.

So how does Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) affect this?

Each person’s body responds differently to HRT.
